Commercial & Hospitality Drapery Fabrication in New York City
A Manhattan Drapery Workroom for Hotels, Restaurants, Ballrooms, Event Spaces & Commercial Interiors
For three generations and roughly 38 years, Rafael Interiors has fabricated custom drapery from our workroom and showroom at 46 West 21st Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Alongside our residential practice, our workroom has provided custom drapery and window-treatment work for major New York hospitality, restaurant, and event venues—including large-scale ballroom and event-space environments—for clients such as Casa Cipriani, Cipriani locations throughout New York City, Kith Ivy, and Chez Margaux.
Selected commercial and hospitality work includes Casa Cipriani, major ballroom and event-space projects at Cipriani 42nd Street and Cipriani Wall Street, Cipriani Broadway, Kith Ivy, and Chez Margaux.

Capabilities for Hospitality and Commercial Environments
Our workroom fabricates custom drapery and curtains, Roman shades, and motorized window-treatment systems using Lutron and Somfy technology, applied to the scale and requirements of hospitality and commercial environments — including hotel guestroom and suite window treatments, ballroom and event-space drapery, and restaurant window treatments. We draw from the same designer fabric and hardware library used on our residential commissions, including Romo, Zinc, Mark Alexander, Kravet, Lee Jofa, Clarke & Clarke, Fabricut, and JF Fabrics, paired with architectural-grade hardware from Vesta and Morgik.
Who We Work With
We collaborate with interior designers, architects, hospitality design teams, general contractors, hotel developers and operators, restaurant owners and operators, event venue teams, commercial property managers, and procurement and project teams.
Why Designers and Hospitality Teams Work With Rafael Interiors
Rafael Interiors brings nearly 40 years of New York City experience as a third-generation, family-owned workroom to every commercial and hospitality engagement. Our custom fabrication is produced in-house at our Chelsea workroom and showroom, rather than sourced from off-the-shelf window treatments. We bring real experience with major luxury hospitality venues alongside an established residential practice, and we collaborate directly with designers, architects, and project teams from specification through installation.
Our Process for Commercial and Hospitality Projects
Consultation and Project Discussion
Every project begins with a conversation about your space, timeline, and goals. We are glad to speak directly with hotel developers, hospitality designers, architects, general contractors, restaurant owners, commercial property managers, and interior designers to understand project scope before proposing next steps.
Measurement and Site Coordination
Where applicable, our team coordinates a site visit to measure windows and openings, review architectural drawings, and confirm access requirements with the property or project team.
Design and Specification Review
We review fabric, style, lining, and operating system options with you or your design and procurement team, and confirm specifications before fabrication begins.
Fabrication
Our standard workroom process involves cutting and sewing drapery in-house at our Chelsea facility. For any project, the specific fabrication and installation arrangement is confirmed with the client during the design and specification review.
Installation
Our team can install the finished treatments directly, or coordinate installation timing with your general contractor or property team, depending on the requirements of the project.
